Description

It was discovered that trace rare earths - particularly europium - are responsible for this wonderful glow

typically by soaking in a sugar solution and then exposing it to sulfuric acid which carbonizes the sugar

The color shifts from pink to orange and often looks golden on camera for some reason

The result is a larger boule of much higher quality

Weird Yb:YAG Garnet Facet Rough, Experiment Gone Wrong Type:Brown, 7.7g It was discovered that traceThis is facet rough of weird mutated Yb: YAG. We tried to have it grown, it usually comes out a vivid blue green, but this one went wrong in the process. It has a combination of browns, yellows, greens, and occasional blue, giving more of a pondwater set of colors instead of the typical deep aqua blue you get from Yb: YAG. Since this was done by accident we don't know if we'll have more, but the colors are neat!
